Lesbians on the beach enjoying their summer days by exploring the female form, that’s what you can expect on Girlvania: Summer Lust. This title is almost over a decade old now, and the graphics and controls have taken a bit of a hit in the meantime. You now have the stunning, state-of-the-art, realistic graphics of today to compare to, so it might not hit the mark. There is a DLC you can enjoy that brings you even more content, but other than that, the game is completely standalone and plays offline once you download it.
The biggest issue we had was the controls, as the game throws you into the action without much of a tutorial. Granted, the animations on the tongues were excellent, and it was obvious that great care had been put into how the bodies behaved. But there are moments of hiccups like empty, hollow stares, and sometimes almost juvenile activities. The setting is tied to the beach, of course, so some of the scenes you can set up are in wooden cottages and feature lots of bikinis. The strapon action is also inevitable, and double penetration can easily be done.
As for the price, well, the game is a one-time purchase. You might have to add more money to it if you plan to have the DLC as well, but for an older game, the cost might be on the steeper end. How much? It was hard to find on the page itself, but one of the numbers we dug out was $39.99, and the DLC was $15. For an old game with these graphics, the price is quite outrageous. The total cost is comparable to Elder Scrolls: Oblivion remaster, which came out recently, so it really puts it in perspective.
What We Think
The controls are clunky, the action is cliche, and the graphics are falling behind. Plus, there is a price that hasn’t gotten cheaper even after so long. It’s all too expensive for what would otherwise be a $25 game on Steam, where you can enjoy a safer and more convenient sex game, not to mention cheaper. The price doesn’t even beat out the recurring subscriptions to other sex simulator games, so it’s really hard for us to put any good words in.
