Not every pose is easy to pull off, and we'd know since we've both done research and tried to pull it off. In reality, it's all about stamina and body athleticism. The bedsheet tango burns a lot of calories for a reason, and it turns out that you kinda need to have a body that can endure that. To be fair, this is not a topic that's easy to make a good list for, since many of the established sex poses exist because they're fun and comfortable to do. And the biggest thing is trying not to hurt yourself or your partner during the intimate act, so the list is even narrower now, since counting crazy things isn't our style. This means we'll have to condense things in certain parts. Let's begin!
1. The Golden Gate Bridge And Its Greatness
You've heard of the sixty-nine position, which deserves all the praise it gets. However, just like there is the reverse cowgirl, there exists something called the Golden Gate Bridge. The partner on top puts their crotch to their partner's mouth, but instead of turning around to show their posterior, they arch their back and try to reach their partner's privates. It sounds insane, right? We can't pull this off, and no shame to everyone else who can't either. If professional acrobats and gymnasts filmed porn, we might actually see this pose in action and not just theory. Someone also mentioned how the couple becomes half a wheel, in a way. Besides, reaching the private area as the partner on top is hard. Your bottom accomplice would need to push their hips up. It's strenuous for all parties, really.
2. & 3. Butter Churner And Standing Variation
You might have seen this one during some gonzo videos, but the butter churner is basically: woman on the bottom (or guy), back first, legs up, and the giver provides squat thrusts while gripping the legs. Butter churner is a novelty position and not something that should be done frequently. The biggest issue here is that blood rushes to the head since the bottom partner's legs are in the air. It puts strain on the heart and the brain. A variation on the butter churner is even more extreme, where the partner is held by the torso and left to hang in the air. It's a demanding position for the bottom partner, especially the second variation. Not to mention that the one holding the torso in the second variation needs good arm strength.
4. Waterfall
This is a reverse position of the second variation. The giver hangs from the edge of the bed with their torso still on the mattress. Depending on the inclination, the giving partner can lie back first on the floor or with their head suspended just above. The receiving partner straddles their torso in a cowgirl-like position. The rush of blood backward is still an issue in this pose, although it's a slightly gentler pose otherwise. Some tricks that can make this pose doable is putting pillows and cushions under the giver to make their position better. It's also good practice to avoid sharp edges on the bed, as that can press into the leg and cause pain and discomfort during the act. It's small details like this that make Waterfall more pleasant.
5. & 6. The Two Holding Positions
Since we're talking about arm strength, what better positions to mention than the many different carry positions? The saddle hold is the more recognisable position, where the giver holds their partner mounted on the shaft. The receiving partner can provide support by wrapping their legs around the torso, but a lot of arm strength goes in keeping the partner in place. This is especially the case for the face-sitting hold. The giver holds their partner in the air up to their face, and then provides oral stimulation. The only holds the receiver can find are holding the head and draping their legs over the neck. Depending on how heavy the partner is, this position can become downright impossible, but it's a good reason to hit the gym and exercise arms. Most of the time, laying positions are more viable.
7. The Little Dipper And Its Setup
To pull off the sex pose of this name, you'll need two firm pieces of furniture. The giver sits or lies between them, and the receiver uses the furniture to hoist themselves over the giver. By using their arms, the receiver lifts and lowers themselves onto the partner. This is naturally harsh on the triceps, but setting up the props and judging the right distance is also hard. Some furniture is too frail or unstable for something like this, for example. You also need to judge the correct height, as otherwise this isn't much of a sex pose. The strain on the muscles can be exhausting on a less physically active partner, which can easily cut the fun short. The muscle burn pain after the act is also a terrible feeling to endure.
8.; 9. & 10 Any Variation Of The Low Squat Thrust.
Low squat can be used in three primary ways. You can use it to thrust into your partner while holding their torso, you can use it for oral stimulation where the receiver is a few inches above the giver, and you can also have the receiver riding the shaft in a more intimate cowgirl-like pose. The benefit of the low squat is control over your pelvis, which allows for a greater range of movement during the act. In comparison, just sitting on the partner directly limits the action you can enjoy. But squatting like that can be a bit of a pain, as you can lose your balance over time. Worse yet, it's incredibly easy to feel your legs giving out, either through pain or through loss of sensation. Low squats certainly require some leg exercises for proper use.
